When the Gall family of Glenskinno Farm decided they want to diversify back in 2014 by installing renewable energy solutions that would reduce costs, and generate new income we were the ideal partner to help them achieve this.
In order to remain as a viable enterprise, the family to expand their enterprise and take advantage of the land and resources they had, decided, with our advice, to build a biofuels business on site.
There was a demand for wood chips in the area, and Glenskinno farm was the perfect place to meet those demands.
To help them achieve their goals, a wood drying chip solution was needed to reduce the moisture content of wood chips from 50-60% to below 23%, we installed a Froling boiler on their site.
As part of further investment in renewables we also later installed a 150kW biomass district heating system, a 100kw wind turbine, and a 50kw solar PV system.
Glenskinno Biofuels are now a successful business delivering wood fuel contracts across the whole of Scotland.
